Which KeepCup Insulated Cold Cup should I choose?

Both are vacuum insulated, electropolished stainless steel with a central straw valve — no taint, cold to the last sip.

The Commuter Iced Coffee Cup has a screw-fit colored Tritan lid for a more secure, personal carry. The base is also compatible with the Commuter Travel Mug lid and Bottle lid — so one base covers every temperature.

The Thermal Cold Cup has a clear press-in lid. A simpler approach — and you can see exactly what's inside. Sometimes that's the whole point.

Is the KeepCup Commuter range modular?

Yes it is! The screw fit cup base has a number of accessories that fit interchangeably - straw lid, commuter lid and Bottle Lid making it a fantastic addition for traveling and roam around or magically pulling the perfect reusable cup or bottle straight from your bag.
The modularity of the range is a testament to great design and product quality.

Is Commuter Travel Mug easy to clean?

The KeepCup Commuter is easy to clean because its one-part flip lid has fewer fiddly edges and parts, leaving no hidden corners for biofilm to settle in. The screw fit sits above the drink, not in it, so it stays cleaner. A rinse in warm water does the job day to day. The silicone gasket is designed to be removed, so take it out from time to time for a thorough clean and a longer life. It’s dishwasher safe with non-abrasive tablets, though handwashing preserves the painted finish. Electropolished stainless steel won’t hold flavours, so today’s flat white tastes like today’s.

What is the best travel mug material for hot and cold drinks?

It depends which you care about more: temperature or taste.

  • Insulated stainless steel: Best for keeping drinks hot or cold for hours. Electropolished rather than ceramic-coated, so there is no flavor taint.
  • Tempered glass: Best for taste. For the delicate flavors of specialty coffee it is hard to go past glass — tactile, beautiful, and it carries nothing forward from the last drink.
  • Lightweight plastic or Tritan: Lightest and most practical for commuting and everyday carry, with 50% recycled content.

If you want one cup that does everything, insulated steel is the safest choice. If coffee is the point, choose glass.

Why aren't KeepCup Commuter Travel Tumblers ceramic lined?

This is a quality issue. When the steel content is high enough, Stainless Steel is a food-safe material that can be used without a lining. We electropolish the surface of the 18/8 90% recycled stainless steel. It has is BPA/BPS free, has no taint to taste, so no ceramic lining is needed.
